Denim Days by Aleksandra Modrzejewska

DSC_5685Denim Days is an unapologetic showcase of vintage and independent brands, (designer Emma Crosland’s graduate collection “Denim for Pleasure” in particular) with a focus on fabric manipulation, feminine silhouettes, architecture, and the effect that feminism and women’s sexuality have had on fashion. Photographer Aleksandra Modrzejewska, with styling and vintage selections by Jenny Brownlees, has here put together a solid and surprisingly sensitive photo series (modelled by Olivia Fenn @Colours Agency). The collection combines luxury cottons, leather and twills with denim. Clever pattern cutting creates a silhouette that allows the fabrics to flow, be attached together and cinched into the female figure to enhance sex appeal and represent a new sense of femininity.
