A third year student studying Fashion Design at Falmouth University, Olivia Dias Bagott teams with Katy Thomas for a greenhouse shoot – a location agreed to reflect the soft, organic looks of the garments beautifully. “We wanted the shoot to be very natural and minimal” Thomas explains. Initially inspired by the naive, free drawings of the Bouroullec Brothers, as well as the functional yet fun aesthetic of their furniture, Olivia’s final collection is innovative, fresh, and stuns in its own brilliantly unique way. Modelled by Becki Mawby.
I looked at mexican square pattern-cutting and developed my designs to be cut with minimal seams, wrapping and folding around the body in a primitive yet modern way. The result is a collection of simple silhouettes with playful detail in the function of seams and pockets.
